First Baptist Church Brownwood will present its annual Christmas concert this weekend, with performances Saturday and Sunday evenings. The entire FBC Music Ministry will be represented with the sounds of the Sanctuary Choir supported by the orchestra, children’s choirs, and the handbell ensemble, invoking the warmth and beauty of seasonal favorites.
The FBC Music Ministry is under the direction of Dr. Gregory Church, Assistant Professor of Music at Howard Payne University.
“Our ensembles include members of all ages, from children to senior adults. This program will be a wonderful representation of the family of faith at First Baptist” said Church.
These groups will present a variety of choral and instrumental pieces, including favorite Christmas carols arranged for choir and orchestra.
Church adds, “If you are already feeling overwhelmed by the frantic schedule and commercialism of the season, join us for a musical celebration that will remind you of the Joy of Christmas and the Peace that is offered to all through the birth of Jesus.”
Both performances will begin at 6:00 PM in the Sanctuary at FBC Brownwood. Doors will open to the public at 5:30 PM. As a gift to the community, the concert is free and open to the public.
