Faye Morton, 82, of Brownwood, passed away on Sunday, January 7, 2018.

Fay was born April 7, 1935 to Delmar and Minnie Rollins.  She married Patrick A. Morton August 12, 1952.  She graduated from Arlington Heights High School in 1954.  They moved to Brownwood in 1962.  She graduated from Howard Payne in 1974.  She received her Masters from Tarleton in Stephenville.  She taught school in Brookesmith, May, Blanket and Killeen, retiring in 1999.  After retirement, Fay worked with the Literacy Council, was a member of Brownwood Quilters’ Guild, Brownwood Garden Club and various other organizations.

She was preceded in death by her husband, a son, two brothers and her parents.

Survivors include daughter Patti Wilson and husband, Curtis; Doug Morton; brother Willard Rollins; sisters, Joy Jones and Robbie Rollins; grandchildren, Michael Wilson, Krista Wilson Wood, Karin Rankin and Kelsey Senese; great-grandchildren, Phoenix Wilson, Christopher Wilson, Abby Senese and Gideon Rankin.

Visitation will be held from 6-8 PM Thursday, January 11, 2018 at Davis-Morris Funeral Home.  Graveside services will be held at 2 PM Friday, January 12, 2018 at Eastlawn Memorial Park.

Faye’s family would like to thank the staff at Redstone Park, Oakridge Manor and Solaris Hospice for the compassion and loving care you provided to Fay over the last few months.  A special thank you to Teneal Hill for your care.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the Literary Council or favorite charity.
