Brownwood News – A 21-year-old from Orlando, Florida was killed in a one-vehicle crash over the weekend in Callahan County.
According to the preliminary DPS report, the wreck happened 12 miles south of Clyde on State Highway 36 at 2:18 am on March 7.
The driver of a 2004 Jeep Liberty was Madison Rachelle Michalak, 21, of Orlando, Florida. She was pronounced dead at the scene. A seat belt was worn.
According to the report, the vehicle was traveling East on Highway 36 when the driver veered off of the roadway near County Road 2226 into the North barrow ditch. The driver over-corrected and traveled across the road and into the South barrow ditch. The vehicle then crashed into a fence, trees and rolled over in a pasture. The crash is under investigation.
