Brownwood News – A four vehicle crash Wednesday night in Eastland resulted in one death and four injuries.
According to the preliminary accident report from the Texas Department of Public Safety, the wreck happened at 8:58 pm on Wednesday, September 11 a half mile east of Eastland on Interstate 20.
Four vehicles were all traveling to the West on I-20 when a 2016 Freightliner truck tractor semi-trailer made contact with a 2007 Toyota Scion causing both vehicles to go into the North bar ditch. The truck then slid, turned over and end up back on the roadway, blocking both west bound lanes of IH-20. A 2018 Chevrolet pickup then struck the overturned truck. The pickup was then hit by a 2010 Kenworth truck tractor semi-trailer.
Killed in the crash was the driver of the 2010 Kenworth (vehicle 2), Juan Rene Sanchez-Sorola, 27, of Pesqueria Mexico. The body was taken to Edwards Funeral Home in Eastland.

Vehicle 1 – 2016 Freightliner Truck – The driver was Alex Roddy, 60 of El Paso, who suffered serious/incapacitating injury and was taken to Eastland Memorial Hospital.
Vehicle 3 – 2018 Chevrolet Pickup – The driver was Orona Cruz Jr., 44 of Fort Worth. He suffered serious/incapacitating injury and was transported to Eastland Memorial Hospital. A passenger in the pickup, Kristi Cruz, 43 of Fort Worth, suffered serious/incapacitating injury and was transported to Eastland Memorial Hospital.
Vehicle 4 – 2007 Toyota Scion – The driver was Wesley Cade Rasbury, 19, of Chatham, Louisiana who suffered stable/non-incapacitating injury. He was transported to Eastland Memorial Hospital.
