One person was killed and three were injured in a two vehicle crash occurring Tuesday at 12:43 p.m.  The crash was at the intersection of FM 2126 (the “Access Road”) and FM 2525 (Williams Ranch Road).

Catherine Frommel Lancaster, 79,  from Zephyr was taken to Brownwood Regional Medical Center where she was pronounced dead at 2:21 p.m. by doctor Oines.  The Texas Department of Public Safety report indicates that she was driving a 1990 Lincoln Towncar and was not wearing a seat belt.  Her body was taken to Davis-Morris Funeral Home in Brownwood.

Her husband, Carroll Lancaster, 80, from Zephyr, was a passenger in the car and was taken to Brownwood Regional Medical Center with minor trauma.  DPS reports that he was wearing his seat belt at the time.

The other vehicle involved was a 2000 Chevrolet Van driven by 58-year-old Joe Earl Hataway of Brownwood.   Jakob Michael Hataway, age 6, was a passenger in the vehicle.  DPS indicates that both were wearing their seat belts and were taken to Brownwood Regional for minor trauma.

According to the DPS report, the Lincoln was traveling east on FM 2525, and the Chevrolet was traveling south on FM 2126.  The Lincoln did not stop at the intersection stop sign and collided with the Chevrolet Van.  Both vehicles spun off of the roadway to the east side of FM 2126.  The roadways were dry and the weather clear.
