Juliana Garza of Brownwood was the lucky winner of six tickets in Family Services Center’s summer Schlitterbahn giveaway. Anyone who signed up for a parenting class and completed it between April and June was entered into a drawing for the six tickets. Garza, an employee of Carousel Child Care Center took the class as part of the training required of all employees at Carousel.
“I’m looking forward to going to Schlitterbahn with many of my family members who are here with me today, and I thank Family Services for these tickets,” stated Garza. “I enjoyed the classes, learned a lot, and recommend this program to anyone who has or works with children.”
Family Services Center has a new giveaway in the works for qualifying parents of children 0-17 years old. A qualifying person who signs up for and takes the first parenting class before August 31 will be added to a drawing for tickets to three Abilene locations, the Abilene zoo, Frontier Texas, and children’s meals at Mr. Gatti’s. The drawing will be held on September 1.
The curriculum taught at the parenting classes is Parenting Wisely by Dr. Don Gordon. Dr. Gordon visited FSC in May and presented the Center the Family Work’s 2011 Exemplary Implementation of Parenting Wisely Award.
