Funeral Services for Evelyn “Nooker” Wheeler, age 91, of Brownwood will be held Friday, December 28, 2012, at 10:00 A.M. at Rocky Creek Baptist Church in Brownwood with Rick Justice officiating. Interment will be held at 3:00 P.M. on Friday afternoon at Rule Cemetery, in Rule, TX. Visitation will be held from 7:00 P.M. to 8:30 P.M. Thursday evening at Davis-Morris Funeral Home. She passed away Wednesday, December 26, 2012, in Brownwood, Texas. Evelyn was born on September 16, 1921, in Haskell County, Texas to Thomas and Mary Elizabeth (Chaney) Holcomb.
Evelyn was an active member of Rocky Creek Baptist Church. She loved to play dominos and was involved in various activities with the church. She loved the Lord, her family, and her church. The family would also like to express their appreciation to the staff of Oakridge Manor for their love and care toward our mother and grandmother during the years she was there.
She is survived by her son, Carl Wheeler and wife Jackie of May, Texas; a daughter, Fayegene Bush and husband Randal of Bangs, Texas; 7 grandchildren, Bethann Unrein, Monty Wheeler, Toni Dempsey, Shawn Wheeler, Jeffrey Wheeler, Jeremy Bush, and Michael Bush; 19 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Wheeler, and 2 daughters, Ruth Wheeler, and Zelma Britt, and her parents, Thomas and Mary Elizabeth Holcomb.
