The Brownwood Municipal Police Association (BMPA) is a non-profit organization composed of Police Officers in good standing with the City of Brownwood, for the purpose of perpetuating the memory and spirit of Police Officers who have given their lives in the pursuit of duty. With the support of the community, BMPA members are able to promote competitive wages, benefits, and better working conditions within the police department. BMPA is designed to assert a wholesome influence educating and working with the citizens of Brownwood.
The BMPA is well known at the Capitol and stands firmly against any potential law that would be passed that would hinder the effectiveness to serve the community. Members of BMPA are also determined to support laws that increase the professionalism of Peace Officers statewide. The association provides scholarships for area students, support Toys for Tots, sponsor youth sports organizations and provide for citizen disaster relief efforts. BMPA members are “your officers serving our community.”
