GreerEva Jo Seymore Greer, 89, passed from this life on June 1, 2012.  Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 5, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at the Bangs church of Christ.  Visitation will be held at Davis Morris Funeral Home on Monday, June 4, 2012 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.  Burial will follow at the Bangs Cemetery.

Eva Jo was born on October 15, 1922, in Hardin Community of Coleman County to Miles Edward Taylor and Martha B. Copeland Taylor.  She married Charlee Brooks Seymore on Dec. 23, 1944, who preceded her in death in 1992.  On August 6, 1994, she married James Franklin Greer, who preceded her in death in 2005.  She was also preceded in death by her parents and her only sister Edna Mathews.

She is survived by her son Johnny Seymore and wife Dianna of Bangs, her daughter Daphna Seymore of Bangs, step-sons Rod Greer and wife Marianne of California, Russ Greer and wife Dani of Alaska, and step-daughter Cheryl Henry and husband Mike of Washington. She is also survived by two brothers-in-law, Roy Mathews of Bangs and Dr. Donald L. Greer of Louisiana, and one niece Melody Edwards and husband Bill of Bangs.  Five grandchildren: Dustin Seymore and wife Tammie of Lakeway, Reese Seymore of Lubbock, LaDara Gwin and husband Michael of Lubbock, Aleisha Seymore of Lubbock, and LeeAnn Grisham and husband Scott of Bangs. Six great-grandchildren and one great-nephew.  Along with many extended family members and friends that she loved dearly, including one loving care-giver and cherished friend, Dorothea “Dee” (Dillard) Estes.

She moved to Bangs at the age of twelve from Coleman county, and spent the majority of her life here in Brown county.  She was a graduate of Bangs High School, Class of 1941.  She spent her life as a homemaker taking care of her family and home.  She loved to sew and even found time to “re-make” some of her clothes not long before her passing.  Reading was a passion for her that she continued until shortly before her death.  She spent many hours passing the time with a good book or the local news paper.  She looked forward to visits from her family, especially her great-grandchildren.

She was a long time member of the Bangs church of Christ and loved to worship the Lord with her Christian family. Memorial contributions may be made to Bangs church of Christ Camp Fund, P.O. Box 41, Bangs, TX 76823.
