Graveside services for Eva Lavell Kelly, 81, of Brownwood, formerly of Blanket, will be held at 4 PM Sunday, August 19, in Blanket Cemetery with Pastor Jim Looby officiating. Interment will follow under the direction of Netherton Funeral Home. Visitation was held on Saturday, August 18, at the funeral home.
Mrs. Kelly passed away on Friday, August 17, 2012, at Brownwood Regional Medical Center.
Eva Lavell Hughes was born on April 29, 1931, in Crane Texas to Ralph Hughes and Modell Forseyth Hughes.
She married Herman R. Jacobs, he preceded her in death. In 1973 Eva married Joe N. Kelly in California; he also preceded her in death. She had worked at Cross Country Nursing Home for several years as a CNA before her retirement. She was a Baptist and had lived in Blanket for 40 years prior to moving to Brownwood Skilled Nursing Center.
Those left behind to cherish her memory are her children; Trish Keltz, Willie D. Jacobs, Linda Wolf and Richard Jacobs. She is also survived by several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her two husbands, Herman R. Jacobs and Joe N. Kelly; two children, Darlene Richardson and Homer Jacobs; her sister, Joyce Klaus and her brother, Bill Hughes.
