Euvonia Doris Parsons, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, “Aunt” and friend passed from this life into her heavenly father’s home on July 5, 2018.

Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Sunday, July 8, 2018 in the Heartland Funeral Home Chapel.  Burial will follow in the Cleveland Cemetery in Coleman County.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday evening from 6:00 until 7:30.

Doris was born in Dallas County on September 23, 1927.  She was raised in the Bridgeport/Decatur area until she met the love of her life.  She married Norrell W. Parsons on June 21, 1947.  Doris was a faithful member of the Early Church of Christ.  In her younger years, she had a deep love for the Brady Avenue Church of Christ.

Doris had a great love for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  They brought a great amount of joy to her life.  She loved teaching them to fish and enjoy Lake Brownwood.  She also kept just about any treat they wanted.  They were the light of Nanny and Papa’s life.

Nanny had a great love for animals and would help any animal she saw in need.  Nanny was the only one we knew that went fishing with her pearls on.  She got up every morning, dressed and had her pearls on.  What a blessing in our life, she was.

She is survived by her daughter, Norlene Gleaton, a son, Waverly Parsons and wife Brenda; her daughter-in-law, Dee Holcomb Parsons; grandchildren, Brian Parsons and wife Elisa, Robert Parsons and wife Monica, Michael Gleaton and wife Shawna, Alicia Pool and husband Gene, Todd Gleaton and wife Kristie, Misti Pyle, Trent Parsons, Aaron Parsons and Jerry Don Gleaton; her great-grandchildren, Ashley, Garrett, Cameron, Adam, Preston, Colton, Ponder, Patience, Keighley and Noah; sisters-in-law, Dorothy Goodjoin and Shirley Parsons, nieces, nephews and a host of dear friends.

Doris was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Norrell Parsons, her mother, Mary Ethel Morris, son-in-law, Dennis Gleaton, her son, Walter Parsons and sisters and brothers-in-law.

The family would like thank Solaris Hospice and the Early Church of Christ family for their tender loving care.
