Funeral Services for Eugene Baker, age 89, of Brownwood, Texas will be held 2:30 P.M. Sunday, March 4, 2012 at the Heartland Funeral Home with pastor Brian Hall officiating. Interment will follow in the Santa Anna Cemetery in Santa Anna. The family will receive friends 5:00 – 7:00 P.M. Saturday at the funeral home. Mr. Baker passed away Thursday, March 01, 2012 in the Brownwood Regional Medical Center.
Silas Eugene Baker was born on March 14, 1922 in Hamilton, Texas to Silas S. and Viola Penelope Willis Baker. He served in the United States Army during WW II and on April 19, 1955 he married Shirley Bible in Santa Anna, Texas. He had been a resident of Brownwood since 1969 and had worked as a truck driver in the oil fields.

10 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by brothers, A.J. and Floyd Baker and by a sister Estelle Sheppard.
