Funeral services for Esther Sanchez, age 89, of Brownwood, will be at 10:00 AM, Monday, October 14, 2013 in the Heartland Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Eastlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday afternoon from 3:00 until 5:00.
Mrs. Sanchez died Thursday, October 10, 2013 in a Brownwood nursing center.
Esther Ramirez Sanchez was born and raised in Guatemala and came to America in the 1950’s. She resided in Wingate, Texas for a few years before moving to Winters where she operated a small restaurant, Sanchez Food Stand, from 1972 to 1975. She was a great cook. Besides cooking, her interests included sewing, gardening, and spending lots of time with her family. She was a strong minded woman. Mrs. Sanchez came to Brownwood in 1979 and has resided here since then.
Esther’s children include Marcella Sanchez, Gable Sanchez, Sajid Sanchez and Elijah Sanchez. Her friends and family will deeply miss her and she will be forever in our hearts.
