Brownwood Police Department released the following report, which describes the capture and arrest of Luis Rivera Cintron of Brownwood in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. According to Brownwood Police, Cintron is the suspect that escaped while in custody of a Brownwood Police officer at approximately 1:46pm October 23rd by kicking out the patrol car window, jumping out while the vehicle was moving at 26mph near the intersection of Austin and Coggin Avenues. A short foot chase followed and Cintron was able to elude the officer in a residential neighborhood in the area.
On Wednesday, 11-10-10 at approximately 7:00 pm, officers with the Philadelphia, Pennsylvania Police Department were conducting plain clothes surveillance in the 700 block of W. Tioga St. This surveillance was being conducted for illegal narcotics sales. Plain clothes officers observed numerous hand to hand drug transactions being conducted at the location. After the transactions were completed officers stopped vehicles leaving the area and numerous arrests were made for possession of narcotics.
During the surveillance officers observed a subject going to a concrete barrier and removing items from a green package. The items were then exchanged for U.S. currency. These items were identified as powder cocaine, crack cocaine and marijuana. The subject was arrested and identified as Micheal Hernandez, date of birth 2/18/1985. After being transported the subject was fingerprinted and later identified as Luis Rivera Cintron. A records check was conducted on Cintron and warrants were located from Texas.
Cintron is being held in Philadelphia for his narcotics violations. He is also being held for Texas warrants, probation violation (aggravated assault with a weapon), escape from custody, driving while license invalid, fail to maintain financial responsibility and criminal mischief greater than 50 less than 500 dollars. After the narcotics violations are addressed in Philadelphia, Cintron will be transported to Texas.”
