Erma Ruth Ham Staton, age 92 of Brownwood went to be with the Lord on Tuesday May 6, 2014. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am Friday May 9 at Davis-Morris Funeral Home, 800 Center Ave., Brownwood. Erma will be laid to rest at Eastlawn Memorial Park in Early immediately following chapel services. Visitation will be Thursday from 6:00pm to 8:00 pm at Davis-Morris.
Erma was born on January 11, 1922, in Ridge Texas to S.D. “Mack” Ham and Ruby Barnett Ham and was a lifelong Resident of Brown County and a graduate of Early High School. Erma was retired from The Early ISD where she worked in the office and was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene in Brownwood.
She is survived by her children, Lana Seale of Brownwood and J.B. Cason and wife Meloni of Tomball, Texas; step children, Tonya Linderman and husband Bill of Brownwood, Shala Cabbiness of Amarillo, Texas,Tina Harp of Euless, Texas and Paul Staton and wife Jessica of Brownwood; Daughter in law, Marilyn Riordan of Plano, Texas; sister, Robbie Miller of Ft. Smith, Arkansas; sister in law, Martha Ham of Fort Worth, Texas; 20 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, one great, great grandchild and 24 beloved nieces and nephews.Erma was preceded in death by her husband , Harris Staton; parents, Mack and Ruby Ham; son, Larry Riordan and brothers, Neely Ham and S.D. Ham, Jr.
