ERCOT is still urging energy conservation during peak times each afternoon this week as hot temperatures are expected to continue.
Governor Rick Perry says with no relief in sight, Texas residents and businesses are being asked to conserve because extreme heat has created an unprecedented demand on the state’s energy grid.
ERCOT suggests Texans turn off unnecessary lights, appliances and electronic equipment and close blinds and drapes.
Residents should also refrain from using the dishwasher, laundry equipment and other home appliances during the peak times of 3:00 to 7:00 p.m.
