Entryday

Entries were accepted Saturday for the 17th Annual Stars of Texas Juries Art Exhibit at the Depot Civic and Cultural Center.

This year, 340 entries were submitted for a chance to be showcased in this year’s show with 109 of them being selected by juror Daryl Howard of Austin.   These entries came from 157 artists from 39 different cities in Texas, as far south as San Antonio and as far west as San Angelo.  These included local area artists along with others from cities such as Fort Worth, Granbury, Austin, Kerrville, and Abilene.

Organizers stated that this is one of the largest number of entries the exhibit has seen.

The exhibit itself will open to the public February 8th through 20th at the Depot Civic and Cultural Center in Brownwood.

The Salon des Refusés exhibit, consisting of 110 pieces, will open once again to artists to display their works that were not selected for the 2015 Stars of Texas Exhibit and will be held at the Art Center which is located at 215 Fisk Street.  The Salon des Refusés will also be open from February 8th through 20th.
