The Brownwood Jaycees, organizers of RiverFest, are looking for businesses that are up for a fun challenge of building a raft for the upcoming raft races at Riverside Park, one of the many events to be held at this year’s event.
The Brownwood Jaycees will host RiverFest on Saturday, August 15th, and the festival will include live music, vendors, Heartland Cruisers’ car show, a barbecue cook-off sanctioned by the Lone Star Barbecue Society, raft races and much more.
The raft races are opened for both companies and individuals who are willing to build a raft and compete in a 100 meter race down the Pecan Bayou. Entry fee for the race is $25 and there will be three categories to choose from including single, double and group. Prizes will be presented for the fastest raft in each category along with an award for one raft with the best use of materials and another titled the Titanic award for the most dramatic sink.
The Jaycees encourage local businesses to challenge their employees or competitors to see who can build the better raft. For more information and rules for the race, visit BrownwoodJcs.com/Riverfest.
