The 2011 Brownwood Reunion is only three weeks away and organizers are getting all of the competitions, attractions, and events prepared for the big weekend of September 16-18.
One popular competition during Reunion is the Feels Like Home Grand Parade which will incorporate the event’s 1960’s theme of “Come Together.” Cash prizes will be awarded for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place entries for best theme.
The parade will take place Saturday, September 17th at 10am with line-up starting at 8:45am in the Bank of America parking lot in Downtown Brownwood. The fee to enter the parade is $10.00 per entry and includes 1 free bag of beads. Additional beads will be available for purchase for $5.00 per bag during line-up. Beads may be handed out curbside along route. Entry forms for the parade are due by Tuesday, August 30th. The late entry fee of $20 will be charged after that date.
Entry forms are available at the Brownwood Area Chamber of Commerce at 600 E. Depot Street or online at CelebrateBrownwood.com. Forms may be returned to the Chamber office with payment.
This year’s parade is sponsored and organized by Southside Church and will be televised on KTXS.
The 11th annual Brownwood Reunion Celebration is a community-wide celebration featuring shows, competitions, arenas, music, food, vendors, and much more. Thousands of visitors and residents attend the celebration each year taking place down Carnegie Street and side-streets from the Brownwood Coliseum to the Depot Civic and Cultural Center.
