The Brown County Sheriff’s Office is now accepting applications for the position of Secretary, for the Patrol Division.  Application forms may be picked up at the Sheriff’s Office.  The deadline for receiving applications is no later than Wednesday, September 9, 2009, at 5:00 PM.  Applicants must meet certain qualifications (listed on application), drug testing, and a background investigation. Applicants clearing initial screening will be notified to appear before an oral interview board.  The oral board will convene on a date to be determined by the Sheriff.

Minimum qualifications:

High School education or the equivalent, a high degree of personal character, ability to maintain a professional appearance, typing and word processing skills (a minimum of 35 wpm), telephone and receptionist skills, organizational and filing skills, courtesy and people skills, a commitment to courteously serve the public is imperative, general computer skills, writing and grammatical skills.  Bilingual is a strong point, but not required.  This position works with sensitive information, processes reports, files records, proof reads reports, interacts with the public and law enforcement officers, and is expected to cross-train with the CID Secretary and the Administrative Assistant on supportive duties.  Brown County health insurance and retirement benefits are included with the above salary.  For further information, contact the Brown County Sheriff’s Office, at phone 325-646-5510.
