Emma Sue Thompson, age 74, of Blanket, passed away Friday evening at the Brownwood Regional Medical Center.

Graveside funeral services will be held at 10:30 am Thursday at the Rock Church Cemetery, north of Blanket, with Todd King, pastor of High Mesa Cowboy Church officiating.  Burial will follow under the direction of Davis-Morris Funeral Home.

She was born October 22, 1944 in Sidney, Texas, the daughter of Wesley R. and Mary Lee Carrouth Carlisle.  She was married to Bobby J. Thompson on December 22, 1961 at Blanket and had lived in this area for all of her life.  She was a homemaker and a member of the Blanket Baptist Church but had been attending High Mesa Cowboy Church for the past few years.

She is survived by her husband, Bobby Thompson of Blanket, two sons, Tommy Joe Thompson and wife Jennifer and Danny Neal Thompson both of Blanket and a daughter, Shirley G. Glenn and husband Kelly of Early, six grandchildren, Amanda Glenn Smith and husband Brandon, Shay Glenn Stanford and husband Hunter, Lane Thompson, Tanner Thompson, Cody Smith, and Matt Smith and wife Alison, three great-grandchildren, Riley Smith, Kyli Thompson, and Harvey Smith, and a sister, Kitty Carlisle.

She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, Prentice Crouch, Jack Carlisle, and Cecil Carlisle.
