Elvie Brown Sr. of Brownwood TX was called HOME on Wednesday April 12, 2017 at the graceful age of 75 years young. His final days were spent surrounded by his loving family who stayed by his side at the Veterans Medical Center in Temple, TX where he was graced with spiritual prayer, his favorite songs, and the sharing of the precious memories he had bestowed upon their lives.
 Funeral Services will be held Saturday April 22, 2017 at 2PM at the New Testament Holiness Church, located at 7550 County Rd. 169  in Bangs Texas where Pastor Elvie Brown Jr. (3rd son) will honor Mr. Elvie Brown Sr. as the Eulogist.  Burial will follow at: Fairview Cemetery in Grosvenor Texas. Address. County Road 108; Grosvenor.Visitation will be held Friday April 21, 2017 from 6-8pm at the New Testament Holiness Church.
 Elvie Brown was born March 26th, 1942 in Needville TX. There he attended schools and received his required education prior to being called into active duty on the 7th of May 1964 by United States Army as a selective service participant. During this call of duty as a soldier of the 1st Battalion, 73rd Artillery Armed division, SP4 Brown (now known as corporal), worked as a tank turret specialist and armed ordinance general mechanic. There he was also a decorated sharpshooter or expert marksman and was additionally awarded the Medal of Good Conduct. His military service concluded on the 6th of May 1970 ending both Active and Reserve status obligations.
Elvie met the love of his life, Indiana Crockett in Needville TX. The two would marry on June 12th, 1966 in Needville. Together they moved to Gay Hill TX for several years before settling in Brownwood, TX where they began building and extending their lives with children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

Sisters: Willie Lee White of Needville, TX. Hattie Mae Garrett (Richard) of Needville, TX.
Brother: Hiram Rivers (Lisa) of Kendleton, TX.
Extended family: 12 Grandchildren, 2 Great-Grandchildren, and a host of extended family (Scott’s) and many friends.
Elvie Brown Sr. was preceded in death by William Rivers (father), Alice Rivers (mother), Georgia Buchanan (sister), Vernell Bosie (brother), Bud Brown (biological father), & Trinity Talton (granddaughter).
