Ellen Dale Brice, age 72, of Mullin, died Friday, June 21, 2019 at her home.
She was born January 1, 1947 in Brownwood, the daughter of James L. and Mattie Ellen Early Brice. She attended schools at Brownwood and later at Tarleton University in Stephenville. She then attended a university in Oregon to finish her education. She grew up in the Brownwood area and lived in Oakridge, Tennessee where she worked as a counselor for the State of Tennessee with special needs persons. She returned to the Mullin area about ten years ago.
She had a special love for stray animals adopting several dogs and cats that came to her house and loved to watch the livestock near her home. She loved music and had a collection of guitars and guns. She attended the Shiloh Baptist Church.
She is survived by a brother, B. J. Brice and wife Linda of Jackson, Tennessee, a niece, Lisa Brice and fiancé, Greg Prickett of Houston, two nephews, James Brice and David Cannon both of Jackson, Tennessee, and a sister-in-law Anita Brice. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Harold Dean Brice.
Graveside funeral services will be held at 10:30 am on Friday, June 28, at Greenleaf Cemetery with Bill Slaymaker officiating. Burial will follow under the direction of Davis-Morris Funeral Home.
