Elizabeth Jo Long, age 73, of Brownwood went to be with the Lord Wednesday, November 13, 2013 at Brownwood Regional Medical Center.
Services for Elizabeth will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, November 17, 2013 at Blaylock Funeral Home Chapel with Deacon John Specht officiating; burial will be held at a later date. Visitation will be Saturday, evening from 6-8 p.m. at Blaylock Funeral Home.
Elizabeth was born on November 1, 1940 to William and Lorene (Daughty) Sweeney in Indiana. She had three boys, William “Bill”, Phillip, and Mark.. She attended St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Elizabeth was a very sweet, friendly, and cheerful woman. Her dogs had a special place in her heart.
Elizabeth is survived by her sons, William “Bill” Long of the Philippines and Phillip Long and wife Patricia of Brownwood; daughter-in-law, Kyla Long of Oklahoma and Rhonda Long of Brownwood; brother, Charles “Kelly” Sweeney and wife Donaree of Indiana; eight grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Mark Long; sisters, Marcella Yaggi, Ida Mae Hafele, and Katherine “Kay” Rexroat; and brother, Bobby Sweeney.
