Emergency responders were called to the intersection of Magnolia and Belmeade after a utility pole was struck by a pickup truck late Friday night.
Approximately 11:40pm, a Chevy extended cab pickup struck a utility pole in front of the Chaparral Apartment complex. The pole was leaning over the vehicle, and electric lines were lying across Belmeade Street on the Chaparral Apartment side. Electricity was interrupted at the apartments, the Food Plaza convenience store, and the traffic signal at Magnolia and Southside Drive.
The driver of the vehicle was reported to be uninjured by emergency responders; however, he was transported later to the emergency room.
Brownwood Police Department and Brownwood Fire Department responded to the accident scene. Oncor was notified of the downed power lines.
