EISDBoardAppreciation2013

January is designated as School Board Recognition Month, and at the regularly scheduled EISD January School Board meeting on January 21, 2013, EISD took the opportunity to thank these local leaders for devoting time to support public education and serve the students and staff of the Early Independent School District.  Each board member received a Certificate of Appreciation from the school district.  An appreciation dinner was provided by the EHS Culinary Arts class and the EISD Food Service Department.

Banners and cards of thanks from the school campuses were placed about the EISD board room, as well.  In addition, the Early Chamber of Commerce honored each EISD school board member with a balloon and gift certificates from area restaurants.

School board members come from all walks of life and while they wear many hats in the workday world, school board members put on a collective hat when they get down to the business of leading their school districts.   EISD board members pull together as a team toward a common goal – helping the students achieve.  Their love of learning and concern and caring for students, staff, and the community drive board members’ desire to ensure every student can succeed.

Even though a special effort in January is made to show appreciation to school board members, their many contributions reflect a year-round commitment, therefore, any time you have a chance, please take the opportunity to thank a school board member for their service.
