Edwin ‘Sonny’ Hipsher age 81 of Santa Anna, Texas passed from this life to be with his Lord on Sunday, October 28, 2018 at 10:44 am at his residence.
Services were held Tuesday at 1:00 pm at First Baptist Church Santa Anna with Rev. David McLean and Rev. John Stanislaw officiating.  Interment followed at the Coleman City Cemetery with Henderson Funeral Home of Santa Anna in charge of arrangements.  The family received friends on Monday from 5:30 till 7:00 pm at Henderson Funeral Home.
He was born Truett Edwin Hipsher on January 7, 1937 in Coleman County, Texas to his loving parents George Truett and Martha Sula Landers Hipsher.  Edwin was raised in Coleman County attending schools in Coleman, Mozelle and graduated from Santa Anna High School in 1955.  He continued his education at Texas A&M in 1956 and 1957.  On January 3, 1959 Edwin married Nancy Janice Perkins, she preceded him in death in 1987.  He later married Janice Marie Langford Smith on March 5 1988 in Santa Anna.
Edwin was a lifetime resident of Coleman and Santa Anna.  He was a faithful and active member of the First Baptist Church of Santa Anna serving on various committees.  He served on the Santa Anna School Board, President of the Santa Anna Chamber of Commerce and worked as funeral assistant with Henderson Funeral Homes.  He served his country for 9 years with the Texas National Guard.  Raising angora goats was a love that brought him national and international attention.  He served as President of the Texas Angora Goat Raisers Association, President of the Central Texas Angora Goat Raisers Association and President of the American Angora Goat Raisers Association.  He served as an Angora Goat Judge for San Angelo, Brownwood, Eastland and other shows.  Edwin retired from the United States Postal Service following 42 years working as a carrier, clerk and postmaster.  Edwin and Janice own and operate Life’s Delights, their retail store where he displays his award winning photography.  His photos are in Heritage Hall in Coleman, sold in Buc-ee’s stores, in Luckenbach and one of his photos is on the cover of the 2018 Texas MidWest Guide.
He was most proud of his family!!  If anyone would ask he would say he was lucky to have a family as close as his. ‘Count Your Blessings’ he had 54 blessings and counting.
