Edward Mendoza, Sr., age 61, of Bangs, died Friday, May 1, 2020 at his residence.

Recital of the Holy Rosary will be at 5:30 p.m. Sunday, May 3, 2020 at Stevens Funeral Home Chapel, 400 W. Pecan Street, in Coleman.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m. Monday, May 4, 2020 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 303 E. College Avenue, in Coleman.

Interment will follow at the Coleman City Cemetery.  Services are entrusted to Stevens Funeral Home in Coleman.

To keep in compliance with the rules of COVID19, we ask that social distancing be practiced at the funeral home.  In compliance with the ordinance of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, a total of 10 people can be inside the sanctuary.  The mass will be live streamed so that family and friends can view the service.

Edward was born January 22, 1959 in Santa Anna, Texas to Santos Mendoza, Sr. and Estella Nunez Mendoza.  He grew up in Coleman where he attended school.  Edward worked at the Kohler Company in Brownwood for many years.  He loved to go fishing and work on things at his house.  Most of all, Edward loved spending time with his grandchildren.  He will be missed by all who knew him.

Edward is preceded in death by his parents, Santos and Estella Mendoza; his brothers, Santos Mendoza, Jr. and Johnny Mendoza; and one sister, Elizabeth Merkley.

He is survived by his children, Edward Mendoza, Jr. and wife Annalisa of San Angelo, Andrea Nicole Mendoza of Bangs, and Jacob Andrew Mendoza; grandson Maddix Solis of Bangs; his brothers, Ricky Mendoza and wife Karen of Coleman, Benny Mendoza and wife Stacey of Coleman, and Cornelio Mendoza and wife Mary of Coleman; his sisters, Rosemary Alldredge and husband James of Brownwood, Terry Dulin and husband Richard of Coleman, Margarita Mitchell of Coleman, and Gabriela  Dela Rosa and husband Sammy of Coleman; 13 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Pallbearers will be Ricky Mendoza, Benny Mendoza, Cornelio Mendoza, Edward Mendoza, Jr., Ezekiel Mendoza, and Maddix Solis.
