Edna Mae Banks went to her forever home on June 13, 2017 in Brownwood surrounded by her husband and all her Children.

Edna was born on Aug. 9, 1937 in Athens, Texas.  She was the first born child to Herschel Fred Weatherford and Anna Mae Leona Gandy.   She grew up picking cotton in the fields of Texas. She attended Noodle High School in Noodle, Texas.  She met Herman Wallace Bardwell and then married Wallace on May 29, 1954 in Waco, Texas.  She and Wallace had seven children during their marriage.   Edna raised two step sons with Wallace.   Edna married Charles B. Banks Sr. on Aug. 3, 1972 in Waco, Texas.   They moved to Brownwood in 1972.  Edna was blessed to get to be a mom to Charles’ four children whom she loved.  Edna had a great love for all her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Edna worked at 3M for 20 years and she also enjoyed working at Oak Ridge Manor.

Edna enjoyed watching her great granddaughters at their dance recitals and attending the great grandchildren award ceremonies at their schools.  Edna loved to travel, she loved to drive.  She enjoyed going to Laughlin Nevada for gambling. She also enjoyed crocheting and eating Blue Bell Ice Cream.  Edna was loved my many.

Survivors include: loving husband of 44 years, Charles B. Banks Sr. ; two sons, Walter Fred Bardwell and Tommy Joe Bardwell both of Lake Brownwood; four daughters, Cheryl and Rex Franks of Brownwood; Dianne and Charlie Graham of Gardendale, Texas; Jeannette and Tim Buris of Brownwood; Jackie and Rick Hicks of Granbury; A step son, Wallace Glenn and Nancy Bardwell of Blytheville, Arkansas and Charlie Banks Jr. of Cleburne;  step daughters, Nelda and Allen Potts of Houston; Andrea and Mike Thompson of Cleburne; Melissa and Richard Carroll of Azle, four brothers and three sisters; 27grandchildren, 35great grandchildren and 8 great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by both of her parents, one son Jody Bardwell; three brothers; one sister and one grandson.
