Edna Amanda Kunkel Taylor was born on a Friday, January 1, 1932 near Wichita Falls, Texas to Julius George Kunkel and Emma Schuster Kunkel. She was baptized into the Christian faith on Sunday, March 20, 1932.  She was confirmed in this faith on Sunday September 15, 1946 at the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Miles, Texas.

Edna was an accomplished artist, painting a number of still-life scenes in beautiful colors and settings.

Edna became a faithful and loyal member of Grace Lutheran Church in Brownwood in 1950. She was very active throughout the years in LWML, Altar Guild, and several other capacities.

Edna Taylor was born again to Eternal Life on Friday morning, March 12, 2010 at the age of 78 years, at Redstone Park in Brownwood.

She is survived by her sons: Russell Taylor and wife Kitty; Ronald Taylor and wife Julia, both of Brownwood; a daughter, Melissa Taylor of Fort Worth; 7 grandchildren: Ryan Campbell, Sonya Campbell, Byron Whisnant, Amy Tatum, Sarah Taylor, Jenae Taylor, and Rachel Taylor; 4 great-grandchildren: Raina Campbell, Rylan Campbell, Rhese Campbell, and Lindsey Tatum; 2 sisters: Hanna Lippe of Early and Nelda Hodges of Abilene; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Edna was preceded in death by her parents; her brother Anton Kunkel; her sisters Anita Boelk and Evalyn Bryan, and her son Timothy Wayne Taylor July 17, 1998.

Funeral Services will be held 3:00 P.M. Sunday, March 14, 2010 at the Grace Lutheran Church with Pastor Curtis W. Schneider officiating.  Interment will follow in Eastlawn Memorial Park.  Her family will receive friends 6:00 – 8:00 P.M. Saturday at Heartland Funeral Home.
