Eddie Spivey, age 81, of Brownwood passed away Monday, March 23, 2020, at Brownwood Regional Medical Center.

Due to the current status of Covid-19, Eddie will be laid to rest at Greenleaf Cemetery.

A Memorial Service for Eddie will be announced at a later date.

Eddie was born to Edgar and Maxine (Williams) Spivey on August 15, 1938, in Mullin, Texas. Eddie served in the United States Army and Army Reserve from 1961 to 1967. He worked and retired as an engineer from the Santa Fe Railroad. He attended Grosvenor Baptist Church. Eddie enjoyed hunting and fishing.

He was preceded in death by his son, Danny Spivey; his wife, Sara Bess; parents, Edgar and Maxine Spivey; sister, Gloria Evans and husband Harry; and a niece, Lisa Collier.

Eddie is survived by his dog and soulmate, Missy; son, Jeff Spivey; stepson, Christopher Sawders; grandchildren; nephew, Billy Joe Dewberry; sister, Cheryl Staggs and husband Tommy, their children: Alicia Kelley, Tonya Staggs, Terry Staggs and wife Debbie, Amber King and husband Steve. He is also survived by other family members and friends.
