Born October 19, 1932 in San Angelo, TX, to Mary Oneita Edmondson and the late Knox Edmondson, in the family home.
Eddie was raised in the Trickham, TX area. She graduated from high school in Santa Anna, TX in 1950.
One month after graduation she married John J. Wells of Trickham, TX. They had two daughters and two sons. Johnny passed away on January 24, 1966 leaving Eddie a widow at the age of 32 with four children between the ages of 3 and 14.
On November 24, 1968, Eddie married George W. Leonard of Santa Anna. George has been a father, grandfather, and great-grandfather to Eddie’s children and their families.
Eddie retired, as a supervisor, from Brownwood Manufacturing in 1997. In her career there she was very well thought of and a considerate friend and colleague. Eddie then joined her husband George in the operation of the Bullfrog Carwashes, owned by her son-in-law and daughter, Jackie and Janet Miller of Irving, TX.
Eddie and George relocated from their farm in Zephyr, TX to Brownwood, TX in January 2004. Here they enjoyed having family gatherings and meals in their home. They loved being able to spend more time with their two youngest grandchildren, Skyler and Peyton.
Eddie passed away on November 18, 2011 at Brownwood Regional Medical Center.
She is survived by husband, George of Brownwood; sister, Margaret Talley of Austin; brothers, Carl Curtis of Rockwood, Richard Curtis of Santa Anna, James Curtis of Coleman; daughters, Emily and Mike Permenter of Brownwood, and Janet and Jackie Miller of Irving, TX; sons, Martin and Elizabeth Wells of Bangs, Raymond and Michelle Wells of Brownwood; George’s daughter, Sherry McCormick of Garland, TX; George’s son, Paul Jack Leonard of Orange, TX; grandchildren, Rob, Emilee Dee, Shauna, Werdna, Amanda, Amy, Jon, Skyler, Peyton, Joey, Susan, Jason, Candace, Becky, P.J. ; 20 great-grandchildren; and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, two nieces, two great-grandsons, and Sandy and Sammy Huff.
