On Monday, December 5th, friends and family of East Elementary students gathered to enjoy this year’s Christmas concert.  The performance took place in the Coggin Elementary auditorium under the direction of music teacher, Brian Potter.

“Mr. Potter always tells them to sing with heart and that’s exactly what they did,” said Nanda Wilbourn, Principal at East Elementary. “There’s nothing more beautiful than the sound of children singing. I was so proud of our students as they sang from their hearts and with such expression.”

The concert, featuring Christmas songs like “Away in a Manger”, gave each grade level at East Elementary their own time to perform. The 1st graders started the night of off at 6:00 p.m. with the 2nd grade following at 6:30 p.m. and the 3rd grade at 7:00 p.m. making for a night filled with children’s voices spreading the joy of the Christmas spirit.

“The performances were enjoyed by all,” Wilbourn added. “It was a great evening to stop from the busyness of this season and remember what Christmas is all about!”
