Students in Mrs. Scott’s East Elementary kindergarten class were treated to a pizza party on Friday, October 3rd for collecting the most cans for the Hands on a House food drive.
The food drive was a part of the Hands on a House competition during the Brownwood Reunion Celebration which was held September 19-21, 2014. Students at Brownwood Elementary schools were challenged to help raise over 3600 canned food items for local food banks at Good Samaritan Ministries and St. John’s Episcopal Church. The Hands on a House competition was sponsored by TexasBank Mortgage, Coldwell Banker, Landmark Life Insurance, Ingram Concrete, and Kirby Cabler.Emily Hutson and Janet Ogden from TexasBank brought the pizza and helped set up the party for the students in a pavilion outside in the school’s courtyard.
