Early voting ended Friday in the Primary Elections for county, state and federal offices, and Brown County voters hit the polls in record numbers.
Brown County Elections Administrator Suzy Young reported that 3324 voters cast their ballots in the two week early voting period with more than 600 of those on Friday alone and 423 by mail-in ballot. That total is 14.9% of registered voters in Brown County.
“This is the largest turnout for early voting in a Primary Election Brown County has ever had,” Young said. “Way to go Brown County residents.”
Candidates and their supporters were also busy getting out the vote Friday. State Representative Jim Keffer was in town talking to local groups and supporters. His challenger Cullen Crisp was in Brownwood on Thursday and also had supporters holding signs and making a last minute push in the area on Friday.
The Primary Election will be held on Tuesday, March 4th. Polls will be open from 7 AM to 7 PM. See full list of polling locations below by Precinct.
