votebuttonEarly voting in the 2012 general election began on Monday with a busy first day.  On Monday, 783 ballots were cast according to assistant elections official Larry Franks.

Franks said that there are approximately 23,000 registered voters in Brown County and typically up to 50% show up to the polls each election.  During the 2008 presidential elections, a record 63% turnout was seen in Brown County.  Officials said that they are looking for about a 60% total turnout this year.

Early voting will run from October 22nd through November 2nd, giving the public many opportunities to cast their votes ahead of the crowds.  Registered voters may cast their ballots at the Adams Street Community Center, located at 511 E. Adams Street in Brownwood, during the following hours:

Early Voting Dates and Times:

October 22-26                   8:00am-5:00pm

October 27                        8:00am-5:00pm

October 28                        Noon-5:00pm

October 29-31                   8:00am-5:00pm

November 1 & 2               7:00am-7:00pm

Election Day is November 6 and polling locations throughout Brown County will be open from 7:00am-7:00pm.
