Early voting begins today for the May 9th Brownwood City Council election for Wards 2, 3 and 5.
Ballots can be cast between 8 AM and 5 PM on April 27th through May 1st at Adams Street Community Center (511 E. Adams) in Brownwood. Early voting will also be available from 7 AM to 7 PM on May 4th & 5th. Election Day will be Saturday, May 9th at Adams Street Community Center from 7 AM to 7 PM.
Applications for ballot by mail can be submitted to Suzy Young, Elections Administrators at PO Box 700 in Brownwood. These applications are due by the close of business on April 29th.
Larry Mathis is the unopposed candidate for the Ward 3 seat and incumbent Jerry DeHay is unopposed in Ward 5.
Four candidates are battling for the Ward 2 council seat including incumbent Eddie Watson, Ed McMillian, Gary Bostick and Pat McLaughlin.
