Early Chamber of Commerce donated proceeds from their annual Fireman Appreciation Dinner to the Early Volunteer Fire Department Monday evening at the Early Fire Station.
Early Chamber President Ronald Isom presented a $1600 check to EVFD Chief Chad Hill. Funds were raised from the dinner which was held on April 29, 2013. Isom expressed thanks to the department for their service.
“We (Early Chamber of Commerce) are thankful for everything you do and the time that you put forward,” said Isom.
Chief Hill said that he was grateful for the donation and stated that it will definitely help the department.
Early Volunteer Fire Department is one of many volunteer fire departments that county residents rely on in times of need. Most of the members work other jobs full time, some at their own businesses, and all volunteer their time to help keep the members of their community safe. These members often risk their safety and give time away from their own families to serve others.
