Early Volunteer Firefighters were honored with an appreciation dinner on Saturday, October 4th.  The dinner was held at the fire department and many citizens enjoyed chili for a donation to the department and its firemen.

A special group of cooks took part in preparing the homemade chili, the Cooking Club of Senior Care of Brownwood Health and Rehabilitation as pictured below.  Award winning chili cook Bobby Brian also donated chili for the event.

At the dinner, Early Fire Chief Chad Hill explained the role of his department, “Early Volunteer Fire Department has 32 volunteers and one paid fireman which is a state certified Fire Fighter/EMT. They assist with all types of emergencies in our community.”

Chief Hill presented an Outstanding Firemen Award of the Year 2014 to Paul Musick for his effort and dedication to the Early Volunteer Fire Department.

Early VFD received a check in the amount of $3200. Sponsors for the event included Atmos Energy, Black Plumbing, Inc., Bob’s Fuels, Inc., Leland’s Portable Buildings (Diane Booth, Dealer) and State Representative Jim Keffer.
