After a failed installation attempt last Friday and weather delays, construction workers successfully installed the traffic signal light bridge across Early Blvd near Chicken Express on Wednesday night.
Early police officers were on the scene diverting traffic to Orchard Drive as workers hoisted the large structure in place. The project began at about 8pm on Wednesday and police opened traffic lanes back up on Early Blvd at about 10pm as workers secured the traffic signal bridge into place.
Being a night installation, traffic was much lighter than was the case on last Friday morning when an unsuccessful attempt at installation was made when workers discovered that the fitting bolts did not line up with the connecting hole. Modifications were made to the fittings to correct the problem.
Although the traffic signal bridge in now in place, workers are working to install & adjust the actual traffic signal lights to the structure before it is fully operational.
The Texas Department of Transportation recently said that they are striving to have all traffic lanes on Early Blvd open in November as they try to wrap up the construction project.
