A team of four students from Early Elementary attended the TCEA State Robotics Competition at Johnson Middle School in Irving, Texas on Saturday, April 14.
The team, The Beastly Bots, composed of members Tommy Bowden, Ryleigh Dalleh, Sydney Shea, and David Lee Shields, scored an average of 633 points to take sixth place. Fifty-seven teams from elementary and middle schools of all sizes from all over the state competed in this contest.
Each team was required to run their robot in three rounds, and the scores from each round were averaged for the final placement. The teams had a prescribed task to do and have been programming their robots for months prior to the competition.
“Congratulation to the team for representing Early Elementary Robotics with such class at the competition,” stated 4th Grade Science Teacher and Robotics Team Sponsor Keith Taylor.
