The Early Police Department continues to investigate the sexual assault reported on January 21, 2015 involving a massage therapist Rolando Santamaria. According to Early Police Chief David Mercer, several other victims have come forward and reported that they were also assaulted by Santamaria during a massage therapy session, all of the victims stated they felt too embarrassed to come forward at the time the incident occurred.
The Early Police Department is asking if there are any others who were victims of Rolando Santamaria and may have been afraid to come forward to please contact the Early Police Department by calling 325-646-5322.
After the initial report the sexual assault in January of 2015, an EPD detective made contact with Rolando Santamaria and requested he come to the Early Police Department to talk about the incident. According to police, Santamaria never made his appointments and when detectives made contact with Santamaria’s attorney, he stated he had no contact with Rolando Santamaria and did not know his whereabouts.
After Rolando Santamaria was indicted by the Brown County Grand Jury for the January 2015 assault of the 38-year-old woman, he was arrested on March 20, 2016 by the De Rio Police Department. Rolando Santamaria has since been transferred back to Brown County.
