Early Police Department Chief David Mercer released arrest reports regarding activity over the weekend.
Passenger Gets Upset
At approximately 3am on Sunday morning, Early PD officer Johnny Brown made a traffic stop on a 1999 Mercedes SUV in the 300 block of Early Blvd for speeding in the construction zone. Officer Brown spoke with the driver Zachary P Dauer regarding the violation. Officer Brown could also smell a strong odor of alcohol in the vehicle. A field sobriety test was administered to Dauer at which point Officer Brown placed him under arrest for DWI.
A passenger in the vehicle, Cole Tarlton became very belligerent and began yelling and cursing at Officer Brown. Sgt Dibrell arrived on scene to assist and officers made an attempt to calm Tarlton but he continued to get more belligerent. Some residents in the area were awakened by Tarleton’s yelling and cursing. Tarlton was placed under arrest for disorderly conduct. Officer Brown obtained a search warrant for blood from Judge Frank Griffin. Dauer was taken to the Brownwood Regional Medical Center where a blood sample was obtained, Dauer was then taken and booked into the Brown Co Jail.
DWI Arrest
At about 7:50pm on Friday, officer Johnny Brown received a call from dispatch regarding a dark colored pickup on Hwy 377 traveling from Blanket toward Early on Highway 377. The caller reported the vehicle was swerving from one lane to the other. Officer Brown located the vehicle and observed the vehicle swerving and at one point it swerved near the bar ditch and back. The vehicle was stopped and Officer Brown identified the driver as Angel C Cedillo from Stephenville. A series of field sobriety test were performed upon smelling alcohol on Cedillo. Cedillo consented to a blood test and was taken to the Brownwood Regional Medical Center. Cedillo was then booked into the Brown Co Jail for DWI 2nd offense.
