A narcotics search warrant was executed on a Brownwood apartment after an investigation of marijuana and cocaine delivery began in Early. Sgt Shawn Dibrell began an investigation into marijuana and cocaine being delivered in Early approximately 1 week ago. Further investigation developed information that the drugs were coming from the suspected apartment in Brownwood. BCSO Narcotic Investigator Carlisle Gover was contacted to assist in further follow up.

A search and arrest warrant was drafted and signed by Judge Brian Thompson. The warrant was executed at 7am Sunday morning by officers from the Early Police department and the Brown County Sheriff’s office. Once entry to the apartment was gained the occupant, 20-year-old Michael Shearer of Brownwood, ran for the bathroom and tried to flush the drugs. Shearer was caught and stopped. 30-year-old Regan Junea Rodden of Brownwood was found in the living room area. A search of the apartment lead to the discovery of powder cocaine and packaging materials and scales. Both Rodden and Shearer were taken to the Brown County Jail and booked for manufacturing and delivery of Controlled Substance. Shearer was also charged with tampering with evidence.

In unrelated cases:

-On Saturday, Officer Patti Mae Furry and Officer Keith Varner arrested Gary Burt Tilley of Weatherford on charges of Displaying an altered/Fictitious Inspection Certificate and an outstanding warrant from Bee county for Driving While License Suspended.

-At 11:20 am on Friday, Officer John Mills stopped a vehicle leaving a local convenience store after receiving a call the driver was intoxicated. Officer Mills observed the vehicle drive onto the shoulder and back into the traffic lane prior to stopping the vehicle. The driver 59-year-old Denman Elder Cain was given a series of sobriety test which he failed.  Cain consented to a blood test and was transported to the Brownwood Regional Hospital where a blood test was obtain to be sent to the DPS for results. Cain was booked into the Brown Co Jail for DWI 2nd offense.

-On Sunday at 5:30pm, Officer Patti Mae Furry stopped a black dodge pickup in the 600 block of Early Blvd for speeding.  Upon further investigation, Officer Furry located a small baggie of marijuana in the door pocket of the pickup along with a smoking pipe and bong. The driver, 18-year-old Billy Shy Drew of Early, was arrested for possession of marijuana and transported to the Brown Co Jail.
