Early Police Chief David Mercer released the following reports regarding recent cases handled by the Early Police Department.
Early Police Officer Keith Varner was called to the Prima Pasta restaurant located on Early Boulevard Sunday regarding a burglary of the building.
Police discovered that entry to the building was gained through a broken window and a small amount of cash was taken during the incident.
Early Police are continuing their investigation.
In unrelated cases:
-In the early morning hours of New Year’s Day, Officer Johnny Brown stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation and suspicion of DWI. The driver, identified by Brown County Jail records as 29-year-old Rhonda Mike of Brownwood, was given a series of field sobriety tests and then placed under arrest for DWI.
-Officer John Mills arrested two Brownwood residents identified as 20-year-old Ashley Martinez and 17-year-old Hillary Andrews after receiving a report of shoplifting from Burke’s outlet. Both were charged with class B theft.
