On Friday, October 12th, the Early Police Department responded to the 700 block of Longhorn regarding a domestic violence call with a possible stabbing. Upon officer’s arrival they learned the male, identified in the report as Edward Lee Williams, had allegedly been angered because the female would not give him her cell phone. Police said Williams became enraged and began hitting and choking the female while she was holding their one-year old child. The female victim grabbed an icepick to defend herself. Williams then grabbed her wrist and twisted it, causing the ice pick to stab the victim in the hand and arm, according to Early Police. The female was able to leave and call 911. When officers arrived, Edward Lee Williams became agitated and verbally aggressive with officers but was taken into custody without incident.
The victim and the one-year old child were transported by Lifeguard to BRMC Emergency Room with minor wounds to her hand and arm as well as a ruptured ear drum and assault injuries. Edward Williams was transported to the Brown County jail for Aggravated assault with injury Family Violence and Endangering a Child charges, both 1st degree felonies. Williams also had an outstanding warrant for harassment of a public servant from Bell County.

October 13th
- Suspicious / 200 block of Early Boulevard – caller was at business parking lot at 2 a.m. stated she was being kidnapped. When Officers arrived, the caller stated male wouldn’t take her back to a party. Male stated he was designated driver for the night and the female had been drinking. He had to work in the morning so they left to go home in Comanche. The Female decided she wanted to return to party and male wouldn’t take her back. Female began hitting the male so he pulled into parking lot. The Female called 911 because he wouldn’t take her back to party. Female, Rachel Dawn Miller was placed under arrest for Assault Family Violence and Public Intoxication
- Accident / Early Boulevard-Garmon Drive. Vehicle hit medium area and rolled twice, striking several trees and objects. Driver fled scene. Further investigation identified driver. Investigation to continue.
