Early Police Chief David Mercer released police reports from the last few days as follows:

Close to midnight on Friday, Sgt Dibrell and Officer Pattimae Furry were logging evidence from another case when a cell phone in that case received a text message stating they were looking for some “hard stuff”.  After text messaging back and forth for a short time, the suspect, 21-year-old Nathan Allen Goodman of Brownwood, agreed to meet Sgt Dibrell at the Early City Park.

They exchanged vehicle descriptions and the time they would meet. Goodman was to trade some hydrocodone and $40 for some methamphetamine. Goodman arrived and Sgt Dibrell arrived along with Officer Pattimae Furry and Officer Steven Means. Goodman was placed under arrest for Delivery of controlled substance.

–In an unrelated case: at 5:20pm on Thursday Oct. 15th, Sgt Shawn Dibrell was contacted by an off duty reserve officer who stated that there was an individual in his store that was trying to sell narcotics. The individual, 20-year-old Mark Hernandez of Comanche, told the officer that he could provide him with whatever he needed.

After discussing the sale for a moment, Hernandez walked back out to his vehicle which was driven by 23-year-old Natalie Miranda Pyburn of Comanche.  Hernandez then walked back into the store at which time Officer Keith Varner, Pattimae Furry and Sgt Dibrell arrived.  Hernandez surrendered marijuana from his pocket and stated there was some marijuana in the pickup.  Officers could also smell an odor of marijuana from the pickup. A bag of marijuana was located inside the accessible to both Hernandez and Pyburn.  Both were arrested for possession of marijuana.
