Chief David Mercer of the Early Police Department reported on two recent crimes:
On May 18th, Officer Furry investigated a theft at a local business in the 1900 block of Early Blvd. Three individuals walked into the business, with two of them distracting the owner while the third subject went into the office and stole a large amount of cash from the desk. The owner realized what happened after the suspects left and tried to chase the individuals down but was unable to succeed.
Another business owner in the 1200 block of Early blvd flagged Officer Furry down and reported the same type of incident was attempted at his business. The owner became suspicious of the individuals and went back into his office and caught one of them going through the office. The suspects then left the business without taking anything.
The suspects are described as three black males driving a charcoal colored Ford Ranger pickup with Louisiana license plates X14H-170. One male was described as having dreadlocks, average build and about 5’10 tall. Another witness stated one of the suspects had gold teeth.

In an unrelated incident that occurred on May 24th, Officer John Mills responded to a domestic disturbance in the 100 block of Cactus Lane. Curtis Lee Lawson was arrested for assault family violence after it was determined he had struck his wife according to police reports.
