The Early Police Department made a pair of DWI arrests over the weekend and one for indecent exposure in unrelated incidents.
–At 3 am on Saturday, officer Pattimae Furry received a call of a possible drunk driver on Early Blvd. Officer Furry along with Officer Johnny Brown and Sgt Dibrell located the vehicle and interviewed the driver 28-year-old James Michael Sparks of Bangs. Sparks was given a field sobriety test, which he failed. Officer Furry also located some open containers of alcohol in the vehicle along with hydrocodone pills. Sparks was arrested for DWI and possession of a controlled substance.
–On Sunday at 12:40am, Early Police officers Pattimae Furry and Johnny Brown stopped a vehicle for speeding on Lucus drive in Early. Officer Furry interviewed the driver, 34-year-old Layne Dorsett, and could smell alcohol on him. Dorsett failed the field sobriety test and was arrested for DWI 2rd offense.
–On Thursday October 22nd at 7:30pm, officers Steven Means and Pattimae Furry were dispatched to the Heartland Mall parking lot where a man was reported to be exposing himself as people walked by. Upon arrival, officers observed a man later identified as 31-year-old Casey Connelly of Coleman acting in an indecent manner beside his vehicle. Connelly was arrested for indecent exposure.
