Early Police Chief David Mercer said that his department has made an arrest related to a vehicle burglary after they received multiple tips from circulating a suspect’s image taken from an ATM machine.
The Early Police Department arrested 32-year-old Justin Daniell of Early Thursday on charges of burglary of motor vehicle and credit card abuse. The charges came after an investigation of a vehicle burglary that occurred on March 23rd at a convenience store in the 100 block of Early Blvd where an individual went in the store to pay for gas, and when she returned, her wallet was missing from the car that was left unlocked.
The credit card from the victim’s wallet was used at 2 banks and a convenience store in Brownwood shortly after the burglary occurred, according to Mercer.
Photos from the ATM videos were placed on the Early Police Department’s Facebook page and the news media where numerous calls came to the department listing Daniell as the suspect, including his parole officer. Daniell continues to deny the photo was him, Mercer said.
Daniell was placed in the Brown County Jail on the charges following his arrest and is held on bonds totaling $50,000.
